Policies and Procedures

 

 

 -You may contact LAPS at (425)226-9170 between the hours of 8:00am and 7:00 pm daily to check on your pet, or for any other reason. Your calls will be returned by the next business day.

- If you are unable to make it back by the specified date, please call to inform LAPS that we will need to continue services until further notice. Otherwise services will end upon specified date and time.

 -Reservations must be confirmed with LAPS in person or over the phone. We cannot accept any reservations by email or voicemail messages. This is to ensure that LAPS is aware of the correct information for the safety of the animals.  LAPS accepts no responsibility for any attempted reservations that are not confirmed with LAPS in person or over the phone.

 -For first time clients, payment is required at the time of the initial consultation. For all other clients payment is due within five business days after services have ended.

 -All pet sitting services that are booked for a period of time that exceeds three weeks will require a 50% deposit in order to secure dates of service.

 -Cancellations may be made up to 4 days in advance of the first scheduled visit. After the 4 day period the client will be charged a $25 cancellation fee.

 -LAPS suggests you secure your dates with 2 weeks notice to ensure that services will be available. LAPS accepts clients on a first come first serve basis until we are booked.

 -Pet sitting visits for the animals will be done between roughly 7:00am and 10:00am for morning visits and again that day between 4:00pm and 9:00pm. If specific times are needed for your pet LAPS will make reasonable efforts to work out a schedule with you.

 -If anyone for any reason needs to enter your home while your pets are in the care of LAPS, we will not be responsible for any damages incurred to your property.

 -There will be an additional fee of $5 to the original pet sitting fee that will be charged for the following Holidays: New Years Eve, New years Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.

 -LAPS will retain two keys at the time the contract is signed. One key will be used to gain entry to your household and the other will be kept in a safe place, to have on hand, to avoid any interruptions in service. If at the end of the pet sitting services you would like your keys returned, they will be returned within 10 days from the last day of service. There will be a key pickup/drop off up fee of $10.00. LAPS suggests that clients enroll in our free quick-key program in which we retain both sets of keys for future pet services.

 -There will be a check return fee of $30 by LAPS each time a check is returned by the client’s bank.

 -LAPS will not be held liable for free roaming outdoor pets in the event of illness, injury, loss or death. LAPS strongly urges you to have up to date pet ID tags on your pets at all times for their safety.

 -The pet owner is solely responsible for pet-proofing their household and property in which the pet would have access. This includes securing all fences, locks, gates, and any other device meant to keep your pet out of harm. LAPS does not assume and has no liability for any injuries the pet may sustain while in their own home or property. 

 -LAPS will not be responsible for damages to carpets, rugs, floors, plants or lawns caused by clients’ pets urinate, spraying, or defecating on them, or for any other reason. Every reasonable effort will be made to clean up messes caused by client’s pets that are found by the pet sitter.   

 -Client authorizes LAPS to obtain emergency veterinary care for their pet while under the care of LAPS. Client accepts responsibility for any charges accumulated during emergency care. LAPS will make reasonable efforts to take the pets to the veterinarian indicated on the client profile sheet. If client’s veterinarian is unavailable, LAPS will be authorized to use an alternative veterinarian. Reasonable effort will be made to contact client prior to getting emergency care.

 -Client agrees to reimburse LAPS for any fees related to emergency care, as well as any expenses incurred for unexpected visits, pet supplies, transportation, or housing. During an emergency situation client will be charged $25 per hour.

 -LAPS reserves the right to terminate this contract at any time at our discretion. Upon completion of payment to LAPS, the client may also terminate the contract at any time.

-Client authorizes that this contract is valid approval for future pet services so as to allow LAPS to enter clients’ premises without any additional signed contracts or written authorizations.

-Client agrees to pay LAPS for all services rendered within 5 days after services have ended. Client also agrees to pay $18.00 per half hour visit, $35.00 per hour visit, and a key pick up charge of $10.00 each time a key must be obtained.

 -This agreement and the other documents presented herewith constitute the entire agreement between Client and LAPS.  Any prior or contemporaneous agreements, written or oral, are superceded by this agreement and such other documents provided herewith.
